Hello all!

I’ve been a long time lurker and occasional commenter for a while now and figure it’s about time I try this whole posting stuff. A brief about me:

I’m an engineer at an automotive supplier that deals with mostly vehicular and engine cooling.

My primary car is 2001.5 Passat 1.8T 5-speed with 199,000 miles on it. It’s been amazingly reliable considering the reputation these have and for being high mileage.

My fun car is an Imola Red 2002 M3 6-speed that I got about 2 years ago with 109,000 miles that I’ve since put another 15,000 on. I like this car a lot.

My wife’s car is a 2011 Golf Tdi with DSG flappy paddles. We bought it summer of 14 because I said the diesels hold their value like crazy. Joke’s on me.

Anyway, I don’t live an interesting enough life and don’t have many strong opinions (oppo-inions?) to post frequently but I got a dashcam for Christmas so maybe that’ll help me with material. Here (or wherever Kinja puts it) is a picture of the M3

Not yet :( I've been wanting to go to Road America with the Badger Bimmer group but the year I bought it I needed new rear tires ($500), then this past year we bought a house, so the excess money hasn't been there.

I'm jealous. That was my number one choice followed by Laguna Seca Blue. I bought based off price, maintenance, and what was around as long as it was manual and not black or silver.

I did the exact same thing, even bought mine without seeing it in person lol! Mine had to be an manual and not white. I’ve had it 9 years this month, my favorite car to date.

I refuse to accept that at some point the Passat will die. But a life goal of mine is to own a car with each number of cylinders.

Interesting, I had no idea they were doing that. is it pretty much just the track or autocross on snow or is it more offroady? I’d only risk the Passat doing that but there's no way it would survive rollers or bumps of sorts.

I believe it’s set up like an autocross course on the track. Hopefully with plenty of snow coverage, since I’d rather not tear up my Blizzaks too much on dry pavement. lol

That seems pretty awesome and with the warm weather, who knows when the lake will freeze for the WAG event. I very well may go to it or one of the future ones. Thanks for suggesting it!

Yeah, things aren’t looking good for ice racing this year. Which is a shame, because I had way too much fun up in LaCrosse last year!
